Every year, huge amounts of usable medical equipment get thrown away after a single use. Meanwhile, people skip the equipment they need because they can’t afford it. We connect the two.
Collect
We accept gently used equipment from individuals, hospitals, clinics, and physical therapy offices throughout the greater Seattle and Olympia areas. Every donation is one less item in a landfill.
Restore
Every item is inspected and disinfected to hospital-grade standards under the oversight of Dr. Mandi McKay, a retired physician on our board.
Give
Verified recipients get what they need for free. No insurance, no hidden fees, and no income paperwork. Cost should never stand between someone and their recovery.

One More Step is a family-run nonprofit based in Seattle and Olympia, Washington, combining clinical expertise with a commitment to our community.
Colter McKay
Colter started One More Step after seeing how many people go without essential recovery equipment because of cost. He runs day-to-day operations, coordinates donations and distribution, and builds partnerships across Washington State.
Mandi McKay, MD
Dr. Mandi McKay provides clinical expertise and medical oversight. As a retired physician, she sets our sanitization protocols, oversees equipment safety inspections, and guides physician verification.
Hunter McKay
Hunter manages finances and strategy. With a background in finance and technology, he handles budgeting and reporting and builds the systems that help the organization run efficiently and grow.
